Best vocation picks for the Arisen

For direct melee, start with Thief: both supplied lists rate it highly and describe fast attacks that can reach weak points. It suits players who want to stay mobile and choose openings. Game8’s October 2026 page reports more stamina drain for Formless Feint than the 2024 Mobalytics article describes, so do not plan around indefinite use.

For ranged magic, consider Magick Archer. Both lists rate it highly, while Mobalytics notes its range and support options. It is Arisen-only, can struggle when fast enemies close in, and the older guide says Martyr’s Bolt spends health. See the dedicated unlock guide below before building around it.

Choose Warfarer for weapon variety rather than its tier: Game8 lists it S, while Mobalytics’ 2024 Wayfarer entry lists A. Game8 says it cannot equip Maister skills. The supplied video shows six equipped skills in one menu, not every platform, save or combination.

Fighter suits players who like guarding and counters; Sorcerer is a candidate for ranged spell damage. The guides note trade-offs for both, and provide no controlled test that proves either is best in every encounter.

Best vocation for a Pawn: support or damage?

Do not copy the Arisen list directly onto a Pawn. Capcom’s overview lists ten base-game vocations and marks four as Arisen-only: Mystic Spearhand, Magick Archer, Trickster and Warfarer. The six remaining choices are Fighter, Archer, Mage, Thief, Warrior and Sorcerer.

For a support-minded Main Pawn, Mage is a practical default. Game8’s October list gives it the highest Pawn rating and highlights support spells; the supplied video also shows one Pawn set to Mage. That menu is an example setup, not a comparison test.

If support is already covered, use a Pawn slot for the gap in your party. Thief or Sorcerer can add damage, while Fighter can guard the frontline. Change roles based on your own fights rather than treating a letter grade as a guarantee.

Version changes, equipment and the six-skill footage

Game8’s supplied page is marked updated October 1, 2026 and says a title update allows six Warfarer skills. Mobalytics’ May 2024 list predates that report, so its ratings are historical opinions rather than a current-patch verdict.

The creator preview is not a controlled ranking test. At 1:49, one reviewed Vocation Guild menu shows six equipped weapon skills; it does not establish every platform, save or combination. Later overlays discuss skill changes, but were not independently matched to official patch notes here.

The ranking pages do not compare identical gear, player input, parties and enemy targets. Check your own skill screen and current descriptions before committing to a build that depends on one named skill.

These recommendations cover the ten base-game roles; the supplied lists do not establish an additional Dark Arisen vocation or a full expansion tier list. Mobalytics says Archer feels weaker early and improves later, while its Warrior discussion notes slower attacks can take time to master. Those are author observations, not measured progression rules, so check your current weapon, learned skills and party needs before treating one class as objectively weak.

How to unlock or change a vocation

Once a vocation is available, you can change to it at a Vocation Guild using Discipline points. Advanced vocations have their own unlock conditions, so a recommendation does not mean the class is already available in your story.

For Magick Archer, follow the dedicated unlock route and confirm the in-game notification. The Vocations hub covers base-game classes and Pawn limits; this page focuses on choosing a role, not every unlock walkthrough.
