Dragon's Dogma 2 Magick Archer: Unlock Guide

The video approaches from south of Bakbattahl through Drabnir’s Grotto, then follows the road east onto the island. Look for Gautstafr on the road; he complains about his back. This is the route shown in the video, not a claim that it is the only island entrance.

1. 1

   Bring three wildflowers

Speak to Gautstafr and give him the flowers he asks for.

2. 2

Go with him to his home

Visit Windwalker’s Home and meet Cliodhna. Offer to help Gautstafr reach the hot spring.

3. 3

Escort him to Volcanic Island Camp

Keep him with you while moving east. Protect him in encounters and check he is following before continuing.

4. 4

   Reach the hot spring reception

At the camp, climb the scaffolding and ladder near the blacksmith, then continue to the spring entrance. Cliodhna appears when you bring Gautstafr there.

Being on the island or meeting Cliodhna is not the success signal. Check that you gave Gautstafr the requested flowers, visited his home and finished the escort at the hot spring.

Do not treat the creator’s claim that the escort NPC cannot die as a guarantee. Protect him and keep him nearby. This page does not verify the alternate Unmoored World unlock or claim the 2024 setup is an optimal 2026 build.

The quest unlock notification is the completion signal for this route. Arriving on Agamen Volcanic Island alone does not grant the vocation. Once it is unlocked, use a vocation-changing NPC to select Magick Archer. This page covers access to the class, not a recommended endgame loadout or damage comparison.

First confirm that Gautstafr accepted the flowers. Next confirm that you visited his home and progressed to the hot-spring escort. During the journey, check that he is still nearby before moving on. If Cliodhna has not appeared at the destination, revisit the unfinished part of this sequence rather than assuming the vocation unlock happened off screen.

Pending confirmation: alternate unlock routes and expansion-specific changes to this quest. The footage supporting the route was recorded for the base game in March 2024. It does not establish current damage values, skill rankings or an optimal build. The video creator’s claim that the escorted NPC cannot die is not treated as a guarantee.
